by | Feb 15, 2022 | Local Attractions

Are you a lover of craft beer? Or simply love an icy cold beer over lunch? Here on the Gold Coast, we are not only blessed with many many local breweries but also fine views and weather to be enjoyed whilst holidaying with us at The Rocks Resort Gold Coast.

Unwind and experience life as a local! Treat yourself with a visit to some of the best breweries the Gold Coast has to offer!

Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery

The first distillery on the Gold Coast is first on the list. Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery is a family-owned and operated distillery dedicated to producing high-quality craft spirits and liqueurs for the global market. Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery is a tribute to Granddad Jack, a legend in his own right.

The Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery & Tasting Room is open on the Gold Coast. You may spend an intimate afternoon with friends and family while sipping exquisite craft beers or savouring award-winning spirits and liqueurs. They also provide a distillery tour, during which you may sample three flagship gins for free and learn more about the distillery and the man himself.

You can even make your gin if you’re interested. It is the very first experience of its sort in South East Queensland. This experience lasts for four hours and will lead you through the process of selecting your own botanical and learning to distil with one of their custom-made 2L copper stills.

BALTER

The pleasure you get from doing something you enjoy is known as BALTER. At BALTER, beer is more than just a drink; it brings tribes together and is a companion to many incredible life experiences.

Everyone is welcome at the Balter HQ. Their open-door policy welcomes visitors to tour the facility, sample the brews, and participate in special events such as live music, food trucks, and a welcoming staff. Inside the massive warehouse-style structure, there’s a lot of brick, concrete, copper pipes, and paintings by Frank and Mimi on the walls. It’s a great place to hang out and enjoy BALTER’S beer.

Black Hops

Dan Norris, Eddie Oldfield, and Michael’ Govs’ McGovern are the brains behind Black Hops, which they officially opened in July 2014 by friends. And what started as a simple idea over a beer led to the creation of the first Black Hops beer, the Eggnog Stout.

Now they have an 80-person team and a brewery and a taproom in Burleigh Heads, Biggera Waters, and Brisbane. In addition, their beer is available in over 2,000 establishments and bottle shops around Australia. Black Hops is also the 2018 AIBA Champion Small Brewery and the 2019 and 2021 RQFWS Champion Brewery.

Visit one of their three Taprooms while you’re on the Gold Coast. The original brewery and taproom are in Gold Coast (HQ) Burleigh Heads. Its production brewery is in Biggera Waters, Gold Coast (BHII), with a taproom in East Brisbane recently added. All taprooms are dog and family-friendly. However, parties of ten or fewer are permitted. There is no need to make a reservation; come in.

Burleigh Brewing

Burleigh Brewing was founded in 2006 by Peta Fielding (CEO) and Brennan Fielding (Brewmaster). The brand became well-known and is now celebrated all around the country. Since then, the team has grown and received numerous business and brewing accolades.

You can visit their Craft Brewery and Taphouse to sample their craft brews. They do all brewing, fermenting, maturing, filtering, bottling, and canning in their Burleigh Heads brewery. There are also meals, craft beers, and live music available. Wines, bubbles, and soft drinks are also available if you don’t want to drink beer. Also, you are welcome to bring your four-legged companions.

Wild Flower Gin

Wild Flower Gin is a small boutique distillery known for its award-winning Signature Gin, which has a delicate blend of juniper, citrus, and notes of the distiller’s backyard honey. The name “Wild Flower” comes from the subtle flavours contributed by the founder’s bees while visiting Burleigh’s flowers.

Wild Flower offers distillery tours and tastings. You can learn more about gin and its history, the distillation process, and sample three Wildflower spirits during a one-hour session led by Wildflower’s cellar door crew. They also offer a two-hour Gin Making Masterclass in which you may use their Alembic Pot Stills to manufacture your gin from over 50 botanicals.
