Live Music
Cooly Rocks On boasts an all-star lineup of Australia’s favourite rockabilly, swing, and rock ‘n’ roll musicians, including A Band Called Twang. Prepare for the original hi-energy, multi-vocal rockabilly/roots Americana style of these Sunshine Coast Hinterland locals.
Cooly Rocks also presents DJ Lori Lee, the brains behind many other kustom kulture events in Australia. Prepare to be taken back in time with songs from the 1950s to the 1980s sourced from a vintage record collection spanning numerous boppin’ genres.
Elvis Precinct
Aside from fantastic live music performed by outstanding musicians, there is also an Elvis Precinct. It is on the Coolangatta beachfront, where you may enjoy scenic coastline views. Watch one of the many feature shows paying tribute to Elvis Presley and Johnny O’Keefe.
Furthermore, Cooly Rocks On will conduct a preliminary round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist (UETA) Contest. Witness the top Elvis Tribute Artists compete over three exciting days, with the winner going directly to Elvis Week in Memphis, USA.
Show ‘N’ Shine
Cooly Rocks On Show’ N’ Shine is one of Australia’s best. Do not pass up the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane and get up and personal with over 900 vintage vehicles. Classics, customs, hot rods, muscle cars, and other automobiles are displayed.
The event is on Saturday and Sunday. But if you want to see even more vehicles, Cooly Rocks On has launched the Early Bird Show’ N’ Shine on the southern end of the Marine Parade on Thursday and Friday. You can not only snap photos but also talk to the owners. Visit the Show ‘N’ Shine precinct to witness the selection of curated autos.
Harvest Moon Swing Ball
Aside from amazing live music and a car show, how about a 1940s-style shindig? The Harvest Moon Swing Ball will feature the Mal Wood Dance Band and plenty of dancing. At Elvis Marquee, there will also be a red carpet, VIP treatment, and a complimentary drink upon arrival. The party will then continue at The Coolangatta Sands Hotel, beginning at 10:30 p.m. with Dezzie D and the Stingrayz.
Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant 2022
The inaugural Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant is not to be missed. Watch as the 12 finalists vie for the title of ‘Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant 2022’ as they join the stage one by one via three rounds that celebrate vintage clothes, hair, and makeup.
