Book at Rocks Resort Currumbin For Easy Access to the 2023 ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Elephant Rock

by | Apr 1, 2023 | Local Area & Events

On April 25, the Currumbin RSL Dawn Service will be at Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach. The Rocks Resort is ideal if you’re seeking accommodation near the dawn service on the Gold Coast.

The resort is only an 8 to 10-minute drive from Coolangatta Airport in Queensland’s Currumbin Beach. Also, the accommodation is the only resort on Currumbin Beach between Currumbin Rock and Elephant Rock.

The Currumbin Beach accommodation offers apartments with ocean views and is only a short distance from one of the coast’s favourite surf beaches. Each one, two, and three-bedroom apartment has a private balcony and is entirely self-contained. In addition, visitors have access to various leisure facilities and dawn services. Visitors can park safely and securely in covered spaces and then stroll to Elephant Rock.

The 2023 ANZAC Day Currumbin activities list is below to aid in your travel preparation.

The Lighting of Throwers Bridge & Elephant Rock

April 17 – April 25

Additionally, even though ANZAC Day is on April 25, Currumbin’s ANZAC Day week illumination programs start on April 17. The neighbourhood’s reaction to the ANZAC illumination initiatives was overwhelmingly positive in previous years. This year, the region illuminates Throwers Bridge in Currumbin and Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach.

Currumbin RSL Walk4remembrance

April 23

Seize the opportunity to raise awareness of the veterans who have lost their lives fighting for their country. Participating in the Currumbin RSL Walk for Remembrance and contributing to funding initiatives that assist veterans can help eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness.

The 8-kilometre walk will begin this year in Currumbin RSL Reserve by the stream, with Tugun Surf Life Saving Club as the halfway point. To continue providing veterans with top-notch care and services, the Veteran Support Center will receive all funds from the Currumbin RSL Walk4Remembrance. Register now because the deadline is April 16.

Currumbin RSL Dawn Service

April 25

The location of the Currumbin RSL Dawn Service is Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach. After the ANZAC Day march, which starts at 4:35 am, the dawn service will commence at 5 am. Arrive early because the ANZAC Day Dawn Service attracts a sizable crowd.

The Gun Fire Breakfast will be at Currumbin RSL following the dawn ceremony, and it is free for veterans, branch members, and active duty personnel.

Mid-morning Service & March

Additionally, the Currumbin RSL will conduct a mid-morning service at the club’s cenotaph. You should gather in Winders Park if you intend to march when the parade starts at 10:35 am and the cenotaph service begins at 10:55 am.

ANZAC Day Luncheon At Currumbin RSL

The Currumbin Palm Beach RSL Sub Branch will host its yearly ANZAC Day Luncheon following the mid-morning ceremony at the Currumbin RSL Cenotaph. The Currumbin RSL’s Waterside Events area’s doors will open to ticket holders at noon.

The club’s doors open to the public at 12:30 pm. At this point, the classic Australian game Two Up begins. The classic coin-flipping match known as “two-up” allows players to wager money on the flip’s outcome. It usually lasts from midday to dusk on ANZAC Day and draws sizable audiences. It has associations with respect and commemorating fallen soldiers, and it’s a great way to spend an afternoon once a year.

Make travel plans for ANZAC Day and stay at The Rocks Resort Currumbin Beach accommodation to ensure you can quickly get to the services.
