Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a fantastic family outing and just a short 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk from The Rocks Resort, Currumbin. The sanctuary not only educates visitors through its shows and presentations, but it also offers unique experiences that your family will cherish forever.

If you’re looking for a quick family getaway to unwind before the crazy season, why not include a visit to Currumbin Wild Sanctuary?

Stay at The Rocks Resort, which is adjacent to “Elephant Rock” Currumbin and walking distance to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Our Currumbin Beach Accommodation provides self-contained apartments with private balconies just steps from the beach.

Choose from The Rocks Resort’s one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments for a relaxing stay, and don’t be afraid to take advantage of a wide range of leisure amenities designed to provide the ideal family break. Our outdoor pool and children’s pool are ready for your arrival. Discover the therapeutic benefits of a sauna session at the resort, or relax in the spa for a long, rejuvenating soak. The outdoor dining area, surrounded by tranquil gardens, is ideal for a relaxed family BBQ.

Here are just a few of the many activities available at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary once you’ve decided to visit.

Don’t miss out on their fantastic shows

Lorikeet Feedings are at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., where you can see dozens of colourful lorikeets. The Pelican and Eel Show begins at 10 a.m. While a large group of slimy eels and large beaked birds await a meal, enjoy an informative session from the feeders.

Catch the Blinky Bill’s Rookie Ranger Station at 10:15 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. This fun, interactive, and fast-paced show will have everyone singing, dancing, and, most importantly, learning that conservation begins with us!

Other shows include WildSkies, Tasmanian Devil Keeper Talk, Wildlife Hospital Presentation, Koala Nursery Kepper Talk, and Dingo Keeper Talk.

Experience a unique animal encounter

Your children will undoubtedly find an animal they adore before or during your visit. If they do, why not give them a personal encounter? What about a “Behind the Scenes” Koala Experience, a Koala Breakfast, or a Grazy Arvo With Koalas?

Learn about the koala’s features, habitat, reproduction, gum species preferences, and other quirky little facts about these gorgeous critters by getting up close and personal with one of Australia’s biggest icons.

Take the TreeTop Challenge

It’s not just animals. Why not get the heart racing and take on The TreeTop Challenge, located within Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This will surely pump your adrenaline with its 80 massive TreeTop Challenges, including 11 insane ziplines. Are you brave enough?

Apart from an unforgettable day of thrills, action, and adventure, safety is also their top priority. Before beginning the course, participants are given the equipment (helmet, harness, and gloves) and instructed on how to use it. Qualified supervisors are always on hand to guide adventurers and ensure their safety. Wear closed-in shoes and have a daredevil attitude!

Dine in at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Why not make a full day of it! In case you weren’t aware, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has several dining options, including the Sanctuary Cafe near the entrance. Beautiful gardens and birds surround the Sanctuary Cafe. Breakfast and lunch are served in a relaxed and casual setting.

Do you want burgers, fish and chips, fried chicken, sandwiches, or salad wraps? Go to Wild Burger, which is next to Wild Island. Recharge in the tranquil surroundings of Kangaroo Outpost with a delicious snack or a refreshing cold drink. Alternatively, Aussie Scoop Ice Cream Parlour near the Lorikeet Arena serves delicious Peter’s scooped ice cream, sundaes, and other creamy delights.
